Sunny Days

I LOVE sunny days.  Especially unexpected sunny days in February!  Claire and I spent all day outside last Tuesday, and it's a good thing because since then it's been FREEZING!!

When we picked up Livie from Kindergarten, we decided we better stay and play!

The outdoor fun didn't end there though.... we then decided to take Dad an early supper/picnic!!

Off on a treasure hunt.

Ahhh

It's days like this that make me think, "Why don't we live in the country?"

Checking out the loot!  Don't worry I didn't actually send my daughter in pink tights, red sparkly shoes, and black and orange polka-dotted socks... :) or did I?

And Boy was it special!!??

Can't wait for more sunny days... I sure hope the groundhog was right!!

Haircuts...

So Friday Night is movie night, and we rented Hotel Transylvania.  I wasn't sure about it, but it turned out to be a VERY cute movie.  In fact, I bought it today!!
It also inspired the following events:

BEFORE

AND THEN...

AFTER

Ah can you believe it?  We have NEVER done anything but trim Livie's hair for 5 1/2 Years!!!

SHE LOVES IT!
Those events then inspired this one to get a trim too!!  Which was greatly needed!! What, you can't see her haircut?

And then we showed DADDY!!

And then, after much screaming, this happened!  :)

I love it as well... very easy to maintain!!  And let me just say I am super thankful for this movie bacause after TANGLED I didn't know if either of my girls would ever get another haircut!!  I think many moms know what I am talking about.  I mean I don't mind long hair, but I have my limits!

American Girl Weekend

Yes, I'm behind on my blog... ALWAYS!!  But I'm still going to do it.  It is so fun to have these things documented.

This year we didn't do the big birthday party with the ENTIRE family.  I don't know about you, but it stresses me OUT!  Having everyone squished in the house... making sure everyone has the food they like... keeping everything going in a timely fashion, which really means pushing the poor birthday kid as hard and fast as possible.... So we nixed it and traveled to THE AMERICAN GIRL STORE!!  IT WAS AWESOME.  We did this for Livie's 3rd birthday as well.... nixed the big party and went to the zoo.  We dedicated the weekend to her!!!  It is still Jed and I's favorite birthday!

We met friends in Kansas City.... and celebrated!

3 college roommates kiddos... Amazing these boys have such cute kids! :)

The 3 boys I was speaking of....

and the reasons their kids are so cute... :)  He He just kidding boys.

AND the AMERICAN GIRL store...
Otherwise known as Claire's HEAVEN!!  We had 2 birthday girls.  Samantha turned 4 this weekend!

And here she IS!  The perfect Claire baby!!
It was a very exciting moment!!

She also got a carrier and swaddling blanket.. oh yes and sunglasses for her baby!!

The one and only Boy... he wasn't as into the store as the girls... imagine that!

Birthday Girls

"I just can't stop squeezing her!!!"

Our "personal shopper"  Yes, we are that important... Actually I would recommend this.  I called ahead just to make sure they had the dolls we were contemplating and ended up getting a personal shopper.  She helped us the entire time, and we didn't have to wait in any lines!!  She just checked us out when we were ready!

On to the hotel!

and ready to swim!!!

Then the American Girl hair salon and style show!

Fun Fun Fun
and NO stress.

I think our family will rank this as one of the top Birthdays EVER!!
(funny fact:  JED LOVED the American Girl store.  He kept trying to buy the, "really cute bathtub" even though NO ONE ELSE wanted it. :))
