Picking Corn and a Life Lesson

I'm a little behind... I'm know, you're shocked! :)
Jed is CRAZY busy.  Although it sometimes doesn't look like it here, on my blog, he is very busy and works loads of hours.  One way we try to see him is by bringing him a snack or sonic drink after school.  We ride a couple rounds and tell him about our days.  He's always thrilled :).

I'm not sure what is happening here, but on this ride Jed told the girls he would pay them 25 a cob for each one they gathered.

You can imagine what happened...

We came out a couple times to gather corn cobs for deer.

Aunt Carrie, Henry and a friend got into it as well.  These girls have quite a pile!
The whole crew.

Then it was payday!!  Jed wrote the girls checks.  We took them to the bank, and luckily we have a great bank that is patient with all of our little lessons for the girls. :)
Each girl deposited all but $5.00 in their savings and were able to spend their $5.00 however they chose!  Here is Claire buying her wings, tutu, and SWORD from the dollar store.  Livie is much more like her mom... she looked at everything from the Dollar Store then, without a purchase, went to Walmart  then came back to Dollar Store!  She ended up getting stuff at our local thrift shop.  Halloween decorations and a hat for her American Girl doll!!  It was really a great lesson for both girls.

Happy Life Lessons!
