Sometimes it Works.... Sometimes it Doesn't

The wonderful warm days have found us OUTSIDE, and doing this a lot!!  Thanks to grandma Mary's Easter bug catchers and dollar store nets, Livie is VERY into catching butterflies.


Maddi is pretty interested in studying them as well.

Later, we decided to visit daddy on the tractor, but instead we ended up here...

the front axle fell off the spray trailer... too much weight

Daddy used the high-loader to move the trailer to the next field.... we followed

 

 

After applying more "make-up sunscreen"  the greatest thing I ever made up.  The girls slather on sunscreen... NO Complaints because what little girl doesn't want to wear make-up?.

 

We gave daddy a ride back to the farm and he got a little pick me up... Claire kept asking, "higher please"


LATER

Look at this little angel... She joined us at about 10:15pm when daddy got home.
She said it was raining in her room.
 

 

Sometimes it Works...

So last week I saw this quilt in our local second hand shop for $10.
I didn't have any cash, and I told myself if it was still there today, Tuesday I could get it.  You see the fourth Tuesday of every month is HALF OFF DAY.  Yep, I got this quilt for $5.00 YEA I love it!!  I mean how could I not for $5.00!!??


I also picked up this cute jar... 25 cents so yes, I paid 13 cents...

And finally, this adorable necklace... I did not get this at the 2nd hand shop, I got it from my sister-in-law this morning on our walk.  Finn broke mine at the surprise party... totally not a big deal and totally did not need a new one.  PS:  This one is cuter than the one that broke.

Surprise!!

So, Saturday, April 21st was Connie's 60th birthday.  Her 3 daughter-in-laws, Molly, Carrie, and myself through her a surprise party... funded by her husband.  It went terrific!  It was so nice to be able to divide and conquer amongst the 3 of us.

We had lots of yummy food.  I may have ordered a little too much, but the leftovers have been great too!!  I was so worried we wouldn't have enough. :)

This guy even did some walking.... Yikes, he's only 9 months!!

 

Both of my girls LOVE this family friend.  It's so cute... he doesn't have children, but is very good with them!!

 

Look how cute my husband is.  His teeth are rarely showing in a picture.  Claire was all about lining up like everyone else and smiling for pictures.


Claire could not wait for Grandma to open her present... she showed grandma her hand and Livie's hand... she was very proud!!

Yea Flowers

We have done a number on our backyard... our house is twenty plus years old, and I'm sure then the landscaping was beautiful... but now, well not so much.  It is overgrown, dead, and well a nuisance.  What I couldn't dig up, I had Jed cut down with a chainsaw!!  We still have a few things left, but not near as many as we did have.

Then, the girls and I went to Wichita and picked out flowers for our front and back pots.  We had a fabulous time.  The girls loved it and I did to.  It was a beautiful day.  When we got home we planted.  And look we have new pets!!??  Flowers??!!

 

Claire even gave them a ride in the gator.

 

Even baby got in on the action.  :)  Claire planted one side, and


Livie planted the other.   Impatients and hostas in the back shade...

Gerbera daisies always make me smile... I had red gerbera daisies with brown centers in my wedding... Love.
 

It feels very springy and happy around here.

Need Any Fence Fixed??

Well, Jed and Dwight are fixing fence at Section 1 so the cows will stay in this summer.
The girls and I decided to lend a helping hand.

After, we headed to a campsite very close to section 1.

And this swinging bridge is very fun.


 You can see right through to the water.


We had a great time exploring... Althoug a goose did try to attack us... No kidding I was kicking and yelling, "get back" in my nastiest voice!!

Ta-Da... this girl is really getting big.  5 is changing her.  She is very brave. :)
