It's a... BOY!!

It's a BoY!!!
We are over the moon and terrified!!

This was my other photo shoot I HAD to do, and I have one more left. :)  With all this thought you would THINK I would have been completely prepared... I had the girls' outfits and had ironed on the Team Boy and Team Girl, bought pink and blue balloons, bought the wrapping paper, and had it all stored in the closet READY.

At the last minute our plans changed, and rather than all 4 of us finding out together, Jed and I found out early so we could watch the girls reactions.  Our sonogram was Thursday morning at 8:15, and we were able to take both girls.  They did a great job sitting quietly and just watching.

Here's our sweet baby,

and here's the point I knew we were having a BOY!  Jed still didn't know. :)

So, we were supposed to do the reveal for the girls that evening after school; however, the wind was blowing 70 mph!!  So we put it off until the next day, but I had blown up my balloons (the balloons I could only find in Wichita) with helium Thursday.

Top 8 Things that could possibly go wrong if you try this type of reveal....

8.  Every box you find could be the WRONG size

7.  The wind could be blowing 70 mph

6.  You could blow up your balloons then move the reveal to the next day to then find your balloons on the floor the next day.

5.  Your balloons could have SO MUCH STATIC that they won't "fly" out.

4.  You could possibly have a bright idea to spray static cling all over your balloons which in turn would again not allow them to float.  (Luckily when they dried they floated again.)

3.  It might be impossible to wrap a box not closed.

2.  You could run out of wrapping paper that you found 30 minutes away a LONG time ago.

1.  You could have a nature lovin' child (nothing wrong with this) that is more concerned with chasing the balloons down because when they go down an animal might eat them and die!

But then again these are just possibilities... :)

The Final Result...

Watch Claire's mouth moving... She's saying disappointingly,
"It's a BOY!"

Good Things...
1.  Since Livie, my nature lovin' girl, chased the balloons down, we were able to have the following pictures!!

 2.  Since the balloons weren't crazy full, we were able to fit more in the box.

3.  Because the balloons were a day old, they floated away slower allowing for more pictures!!

Finally, Good Thing #4. I LOVE our Pictures, and we will NEVER forget this day!!

Chicks are Back at the Claassens

First, I must say I'm super proud of this little lady who has gotten up everyday to feed Blacky before school.  She has fed her every single time, and she's still LOVING it!

Livie and I went on a field trip with her class, and Claire got to spend the day with Daddy.
Livie's lunch sack... it's her new scarf in the snow.

So, afterwards we met up with Daddy and Claire and headed straight for Orschelns.

We get chicks here every year.

Very proud owners of 4 Ameraucana Chicks
(they are supposed to lay blue and green eggs)

Meet BoBo (the 4th), Flower, Tulip and Mabel

Livie's seems to be very happy with the situation.

Happy Chick Days, and for fun a look at the past Chick Days
We also had them in 2011, but I was teaching Kindergarten and hadn't started blogging yet.

A Home for Blacky

Well, Blacky made it home safe and sound.  She actually seemed to be quite happy with the situation! :)

Next up, to build Blacky a home.  Yes, we do live in a neighborhood, but thus far Blacky hasn't made a peep.

Everyone pitched in.

Livie led Blacky through the obstacle course from our roof construction,

and Claire made sure everything was double and triple wired. :)

The girls made sure Blacky's home was fluffy and warm.

Daddy showed her where it was, but

I must admit though, her favorite place is behind the cedar.

The girls are having lots of fun with her, and I think she's quite happy with her new home and mommies.

Spring Break & a new Bottle Calf

How was your Spring Break?  We went to Oklahoma and had a wonderful time.  Hung out, saw lots of baby calves, sewed a little, went to an indoor water park, took a truck drive, did some wedding planning and checked out venues, saw great grandparents, and the highlight was getting a bottle calf!

We stayed the entire spring break because take a close look our house isn't going to look like this long... We're getting a much needed new roof, and as you probably know, this is a LOUD process!!
Goodbye shakes I love, and

Hello black that I hope to Love.  We hope it will update our house.  They have the back done, and so far so good.  This is my cute husband.  By the way, do you know how impossible it is to pick a roof from a 1 inch square!!   I have never looked so closely at roofs in my life!!

This is the back of my car which included 2 bikes and a sewing machine!!

Hanging out at Great Grandma Mary's.  Can you believe this BEAUTIFUL dress fits Claire so perfectly!!  (it's a slip)

Untangling dress up necklaces

Feeding this little girl.  She didn't know how to suck, and her mom didn't want her, but keep watching.

Getting better..

And Finally!!  Ta-Da
Her name is Blacky X20 Claassen.
My vote was Maggie, but I lost.
The girls are always very creative with names NOT.  Claire names everything Bell, and Livie usually adds a Y to whatever...like Wormy the Worm.

A long, fun truck ride.

and even some dancing!
Hope you had a great break.  More to come on Blacky X20 Claassen soon.
