Landscaping 101...

So this summer I have TRIED to conquer our yard.  I love our massive yard, but it does look pathetic... See picture below...
 

So far this is how it looks.

I cut and dug out all of the dead junk... I wanted my husband to cut down the tree in the corner as well, and I could plant a new cute one, but he said no!

Hauled a couple pickup loads of soil and a couple more of mulch.  It was actually pretty satisfying to do it myself.  Although I really didn't know what I was doing.  I also put pavers around the bed.

 Check out my new bench... I found that with my sister and mom when we were out thrift shopping.

It now looks a little off balance, but better I think.
